our story

How Still Wild Adventure Tours Came to Life.

Still Wild Adventure Tours started with a simple idea: no two tours should ever be the same. We’re a locally owned duo of career guides with nearly four decades of combined experience exploring Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Each tour we craft is a fresh story based on what you want to see, learn, and capture—whether that’s a quiet moment with a moose or a core memory with a grizzly. We’re here to share the wild side of western Wyoming, not just check off a list.

Our founders each bring over 18 years guiding, educating, and adventuring in Wyoming’s wilderness.

TAILORED WILDLIFE ADVENTURES

We don’t do cookie-cutter. Instead, we listen first—what excites you about the wild? Then we build a tour around your interests, using our deep knowledge of the parks to find hidden gems and quiet corners most visitors miss. Our guides are passionate educators and naturalists who help you see the landscape with fresh eyes and capture moments that stay with you long after the tour ends.

Meet YOUR FOUNDER GUIDES

eric carr

Born in Washington State and happily rooted in Jackson Hole for the past 18 years, Eric has built a life shaped by wild places, changing seasons, and a deep curiosity about how the natural world works. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Washington State University, with a focus on terrestrial ecology because studying ecosystems is a pretty good excuse to spend more time outside.

For almost 2 decades Eric has worked as a ski instructor at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, helping people find their confidence on snow (and occasionally reminding them to breathe). He’s also spent 7 years as a wildlife guide, sharing knowledge, stories, and the occasional “yes, that really is a moose” moment with guests from around the world.

A lifelong learner at heart, Eric thrives on curiosity, education, and time spent outdoors. He’s excited to begin a new chapter by launching Still Wild with a dear friend, bringing together experience, passion, and a shared belief that wild places have a lot to teach us, if we’re willing to slow down and listen.

BO WELDEN

Born and bred in the west, Bo grew up in Colorado’s Elk Mountains. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master's degree from Colorado State University in the Human Dimensions of Natural Resources, where he crafted objective-focused lesson plans for local environmental programs. He’s also studied international conservation issues in sub-saharan Africa. His academic time also led him to work closely with Subaru and Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics’s Zero Landfill Initiative with National Parks.

He proudly holds a Junior Ranger badge from Yellowstone, circa 1996, and frequently visited the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem as a youngster. Since his full-time move to Jackson, WY in 2016, Bo continues to be a student of the GYE and feels incredibly honored to help others fall in love with a landscape that is Still Wild. He has led thousands of students and guests through this ecosystem ranging from 4-years-old to 93-years-old. He strives to never be considered an expert in any specific topic, because that means he has nothing new to learn.

Nature always has something else to teach you.
